On Wednesday, August 3, the president of Tunisia, Beji Caid Essebsi, has named Youssef Chaded as the new PM. Chaded, 41, is an agricultural engineer with an academic background and had been serving as the minister for local affairs before the nomination. He now has 30 days to form the cabinet and get it approved by a parliamentary vote. Commentators expect him to secure the necessary votes easily despite opposition parties accusing him of inappropriate family ties with the president. The previous PM, Habib Essid, received a vote of no-confidence over claims of mismanagement of economic reforms and security, forcing the appointment of a replacement. Both Chaded, his predecessor, and president Essebsi are members of the secular Nidaa Tounes (Tunisia’s Call) party, which has 86 of 217 MPs in the Tunisian Parliament

In a televised press conference on Monday, electoral authorities said that opponents managed to collect enough signatures to begin the process to recall President Nicolas Maduro. According to the National Election Council (CNE) 407.622 signatures were collected with only 1.326 instances of voter identity fraud.

Chinese lawyer and human rights activist, Zhai Yanmin, has been tried and sentenced this morning in the city of Tianjin, not far from Beijing. The trial comes after Monday release of a videotape, where Wang Yu, former employee of Mr Yanmin in the Fengrui law firm, has condemned her boss. She said Mr Yanmin has been acting against the Chinese government and cooperating with ‘foreign forces’. Mrs Yu says her former law firm received legal training from foreign groups in Thailand. Critics of Chinese government have questioned the authenticity of the video and claimed that it has been coerced for political and propaganda purposes.

Yesterday the rebels media released a video which shows that civilians are trying to set a smoke certain by burning car tiers to protect themselves from bomb drop. The rebels media are accusing Syrian Arab Army of bombing civilians and city’ infastruction .From July, 2016 Syrian Army has declared that it had cut off all rebel supply routes from and to the city. It means that the city is completely surrounded and there is no access to food or medical supplies. Syrian Air Force is busy with bombing rebels military bases and in the meantime civilians are the greatest amount of the casualties.

At least 100 political prisoners joined the hunger strike in support of Bilal Kayed, who started his hunger strike almost 50 days ago because of his detention by the state of Israel. “Bilal Kayed has stated that he would rather die of starvation than give up his rights and those of his fellow prisoners,” Palestinian prisoners’ rights group Addameer said in a statement on Monday. Kayed was detained by the British mandate regulations, which allow detention for years without pausing accusations or referring to the court. Administrative detention is permitted under international law under narrowly defined states of emergency. But according to the Palestinian rights group Addameer, Israel use the administrative detention in a way, which violates the international law.
