Since 1991, China has engaged in a deep cooperation, and one could speak of an "extension" in Central Asia. Tajikistan especially is attracting more and more Chinese entrepreneurs. Beijing has “begun to extend its financial influence in various spheres of the [Tajikistani] economy, to buy up industries and to take control of agricultural land”. However, this migration is preoccupying for the people of Kazakhstan . The cooperation between China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan traces back to April 1995 with the “Shangai Five” nations agreement. On a long-term perspective, there is a risk that conflicts become increasingly frequent between Chinese landlords and Tajikistani people, and could undermine China's implementation in Central Asia.
