14 maja 2008 roku Centrum Stosunków Międzynarodowych gościło Pana Pertti Torstila (Sekretarz Stanu, Ministerstwo Spraw Zagranicznych Finlandii) na spotkaniu zatytułowanym: Our Baltic Sea - risks and prospects (EU, Relations with Russia, the Northern Policy and the future of Baltic Sea Strategy, energy security, etc.). Spotkanie poprowadził Eugeniusz Smolar, prezes CSM.
