On Sunday, Belarus held elections to the Chamber of Representatives. According to data provided by the Central Election Commission, a representative of the opposition went to the lower house of parliament. This event is a test case because it happened the first time in 20 years. Such an event may be the fact that the Belarusian authorities have decided to introduce an element of democratization to elections in the country. President Alexander Lukashenko stressed that it depends on the fact that Western countries had no objections to the election.
The first of the two women who most likely will be in the parliament is Hanna Kanapacka, a representative of the United Civic Party. The second of them is Alena Anisim Vice President of Belarusian Language Society.
