The event is organised by the European Liberal Forum with the support of Project:Polska and ALDE Party. This event is part of a series of Expert Forums organised around Europe on topical matters and challenges facing the European Union, and will be conducted as the ALDE Party considers its manifesto for the 2019 elections to the European Parliament. This forum will be particularly focus on EU Security and Defence aiming to discuss the changes, their potential implications and challenges ahead specifically on the EU Defence and Security Capabilities; PESCO and the escalation of disruptive technologies.

It is difficult for contemporaries to be a fair and unequivocal judge of events in which they participated. A quarter of a century, however, is a sufficient length of time to calm emotions and to look objectively at the changes that have occurred in Poland and in Europe. On the occasion of 25 years of transformation in the Central-Eastern Europe, 15 years of the Polish membership in NATO as well as of 10 years from the "great enlargement" of the European Union, Centre for International Relations and the THINKTANK Centre for dialogue and analysis prepared a special publication and online collection of the opinions and comments. Outstanding Poles and foreigners, the architects of change, share their views on these last two fascinating decades, among others: Jose Manuel Barroso, Tony Blair, Rocco Buttiglione, Jerzy Buzek, Aleksander Kwaśniewski, Vaclav Klaus, Vytautas Landsbergis, Romano Prodi, Martin Schulz, Javier Solana, Gunter Verheugen, Lech Wałęsa and many more.

The publication was issued in the framework of the "EU-Asia Dialogue" Programme, carried out jointly by the European Commission and Konrad Adenauer Stiftung with the aim to promote communication and the exchange of experiences between political decision-makers, researchers and representatives of NGOs from Europe and Asia. The publication, which follows a 2013 Brussels conference "Social cohesion in Europe and Asia – prospects and challenges", addresses key issues concerning social cohesion on both continents. European and Asian subject matter experts examine the underlying factors affecting the degree of social cohesion and civic engagement in a number of countries, including the impact of globalisation, increasing multi-culturalism, income inequality, social polarisation etc. The papers consider a number of policy initiatives implemented in various countries, for example in the United Kingdom, Germany, China and Malaysia.

On 27-28 November 2014 the second edition of the POLANDAFRICA Congress took place in the Conference EXPO Centre in Łódź, attended by the highest representatives of the Polish and African governments. In regard to this event, CIR and THINKTANK prepared a Lexicon of African Countries in English. The publication is a unique, in-depth analysis on the political and economic situation in each country as well as its investment opportunities. The profile of each of the 54 countries also includes information on its history, social issues, relations with Poland and many other interesting data enriched with quotes. The Lexicon also includes a knowledge base on the Polish diplomatic missions in Africa and representatives of African countries accredited in Poland.
