Donald Trump's campaign chairman Paul Manafort has resigned from his position on the campaign. It's the second high-profile departure from the top of Trump's campaign structure after campaign manager Corey Lewandowski left the operation earlier this summer. This decision has been provoked because of the pressure of Republican leaders to make the campaign more balanced after several missteps. That caused Hillary Clintons’ lead in national polls. "I am very appreciative for his great work in helping to get us where we are today and in particular his work guiding us through the delegate and convention process. Paul is a true professional and I wish him the greatest success." – said Mr. Trump in a statement.
In addition, Manaforts’ resignation followed due to the investigation about his recent work for the pro-Russian party in Ukraine. Lots of controversies forced Trumps’ team to decide about Manafort’s resign in order to avoid a possible distraction of the campaign.
Paul Manafort departure leaves places for Breitbart News chief Steve Bannon as campaign CEO and Kellyanne Conway as campaign manager. Conway's new role was welcomed by some GOP operatives, who hope she can help Trump fashion a more succinct message to improve his standing among college-educated whites, particularly independents and women. However Steve Bannon addition was a surprise, he is admitted as "a street fighter" and considered as inexperienced by many Republicans.
