On Sunday, September 11, the President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė, the Prime Minister of Latvia Māris Kučinskis, the Maltese Prime Minister Joseph Muscat, the Prime Minister of Portugal António Costa, and the President of Cyprus Nikos Anastasiadi met with Angela Merkel. The purpose of this kind of format is to better understand and listen to European citizens' expectations, from different regions. Various topics including the next Bratislava summit will be addressed.

Furthermore, there is a need to discuss future cooperation in the context of the post-Brexit: "The UK's vote has highlighted common problems such as Europe's security, terrorism issues, Europe's economic growth, unemployment issues, and migration. These are common issues that need to be dealt with" President Grybauskaite said.

It should be added that the informal meeting of leaders of 27 EU members will take place in Bratislava, on the 16th of September.
