The former president of France Nicolas Sarkozy announced that he is going to run in the next presidential election. "I feel that I have strength to continue the fight, during this highly unstable moment in our history"- wrote on his Facebook profile. In 2012 he lost with Francois Hollande. In the current presidential election race his main aims are to strengthen the country's foundations and reforms such as decreasing country's spending by 100 billion Euro. In addition, he wants to focus on liberal reforms, which will boost the economy.

His main rival is a former prime minister and mayor of Bordeaux Alain Juppe, who according to the last poll conducted by 'Le Point' has 75% of public trust. Nicolas Sarkozy image is struggling after the Bygmalion affair. The investigation discovered revealed an extraordinary financial fraud. The former president was hiding the real amount spent on the 2012 elections campaign, which significantly exceeded permissible limits.

Scandal is referred after the name of the company responsible for Sarkozy's campaign. The campaign budget is regulated by law- the amount of camping spending must be equal for all candidates. In 2012 it was 22.5 million Euros. The court is going to decide if the trial is going to happen in couple of months. Probably it is going to happen after the primary election.
