China, despite the status of the most populous country in the world, is struggling with growing demographic problems. This is mainly due to the one-child policy that has been in force for the last four decades, envisaging financial penalties for couples who decided to have more children. Currently, as a result of controlled the number of births, China is running out of hands to work. At the same time, the proportion between the number of men and women is disturbed, which translates into an aging population and rising social costs. For this reason, the authorities in Beijing allowed in 2015 Chinese couples to have two children. Additionally, new regulations, assume that from 2019, Chinese people will be allowed to decide for themselves and without limitations, how many children they want to have. According to experts, changes are introduced too late and in addition are insufficient to solve demographic problems in China.
