The representatives of Japan, South Korea and the United States have discussed ways of cooperation in the direction of imposing sanctions against North Korea in connection with North Korea's test launches of missiles, - is said in statement of Japanese Foreign Ministry about the results of the meeting of foreign ministers of the three countries. Earlier it was reported that US Secretary of State John Kerry and the foreign ministers of Japan and South Korea Fumio Kishida and Yun Byung-Se had planned to hold a trilateral meeting on the scopes of UN General Assembly.
As said in the Associated Press agency reports referring to the statement by the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representatives of the states, "explored ways to work together to ensure that the country will fully apply the sanctions envisaged by the United Nations towards North Korea". UN Security Council also discussed possible action to tighten the sanctions and potential source of supplies control measures for DPRK develop of nuclear weapons program.
US Secretary of State John Kerry again urged the authorities of North Korea to close its nuclear program and return to negotiations on denuclearization, noting that "the international community will not be intimidated, and turned away from its duties." He also added that the countries are determined to explain to the leader Kim Jong Ynu that with his actions "he isolates the country and its people and deprives people of the rich economic potential."
Foreign Minister of South Korea called North Korea’s test a "time bomb" and a threat to northeast Asia and the world.
