The US military said they recorded a simultaneous launch of two North Korean medium-range ballistic missiles. One rocket exploded just after launch and flight of the second "tracked over North Korea in the Sea of Japan." Launches do not pose a threat to North America. Earlier it was reported that the start was made from Hwanghae-do province in the direction of the Sea of Japan. Ballistic missile range of 1,000 kilometers, allegedly flew into Japan's exclusive economic zone and fell into the sea 250 kilometers to the west of the peninsula Oga, Akita Prefecture.

These actions were partly provoked by the fact that the United States imposed sanctions against North Korea for the numerous violations of human rights. The sanctions affect a number of senior officials and five companies, as well as North Korea's leader Kim Jong-un.

In return, North Korea said that the new US sanctions against its leader, Kim Jong-un means a declaration of war, and promised to take decisive measures in response. In a statement, the Foreign Ministry in Pyongyang, which results in the official North Korean Central News Agency, said that the move by the United States is the worst hostile of actions and represents an open declaration of war against the DPRK.
