More than 200 supporters, mostly youths, of the main opposition party, the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC), organised huge protest against president Mugabe in the capital Harare. Police used batons, tear gas and water cannons to pacify riots and disperse opposition. Supporters of the movement were protesting against police brutality. Many of them were allegedly injured but any official statement has not been announced yet. Those informations are waiting to be confirmed.

Riot police blocked streets around the MDC headquarters an then initiated a brutal fight with activists. The demonstators were marching through the streets of Harare and demaning President Robert Mugabe to step down, accusing him of running a dictatorship and violating human rights.
Mugabe has been in power since 1980 and he is responsible economic collapse which leads to food and cash shortages.
Opposition parties are planning to support MDC and organise a combined march in Harare on Friday. The MDC's leader Morgan Tsvangirai and former vice president, Joice Mujuru, are expected to lead this march.
